Suitability and Side Effects
Skin peels are not suitable for all individuals.
Prior to undergoing The Vivier Chemical Peel, a comprehensive consultation to assess your skin type, concerns and suitability for treatment will be performed. While the majority of clients experience exceptional results with minimal discomfort, it’s important to note that some individuals may experience mild side effects such as temporary redness, sensitivity, itching, and peeling post treatment. Comprehensive pre-and post-treatment instructions will be explained to ensure your safety and satisfaction every step of the way.

Contraindications
The Vivier Professional Chemical Peel should not be performed in the following circumstances:
Individuals who are under 18 years of age, pregnant or breastfeeding, trying to become pregnant.
Individuals who are immunocompromised or have an autoimmune disease (ie, Lupus), liver disease, or any condition that may weaken their immune system.
Individuals who have used oral isotretinoin (Accutane) within the last 6 months, or who are undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Individuals who have active cold sores, warts, open wounds, or a history of herpes simplex.
Individuals who are taking aspirin, hydroquinone, or phenol allergy.
Individuals with allergies to any of the ingredients contained in the Vivier Professional Skin Peel.
How to prepare for your treatment

Avoid the following procedures: electrolysis, waxing, depilatory creams and laser hair removal.

Stop using any exfoliating products that may be drying or irritating.

Stop using products containing Salicylic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Retinol, prescription Retinoids or Benzoyl Peroxide.

You may experience a slight stinging sensation as the treatment activates on your skin.

Skin may begin to peel approximately 48 hours after the treatment and may last up to five days.

Skin may take on a sunburned appearance.

The amount of sloughing experienced will vary depending on the condition of your skin and the home care products used.

The amount of peeling observed is not an indication of the effectiveness of the treatment.

The night of the treatment, rinse the skin gently with water only and pat dry.

Do not rub, pick or pull the skin as scarring may result.

Avoid vigorous physical activities, swimming, hot showers/saunas and heat exposure (hair dryers, cooking, etc.), especially in the first 48 hours following the treatment.

Avoid alcohol, drugs and spicy foods for 24 hours following the treatment.

Avoid harsh cleansers, washcloths, scrubs or loofahs for 48 hours following the treatment.

Do not use products containing Salicylic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Retinol, prescription Retinoids or Benzoyl Peroxide up to 48 hours following the treatment or once peeling, redness or dryness subsides.

Products that do not contain the previously mentioned ingredients may continued to be used the day after the treatment.

Do not exfoliate (chemical or physical) for a minimum of 7 days post treatment.

Do not have any other facial treatment for at least one week after the procedure

Use a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher daily and avoid direct sunlight for at least one week

To maintain or improve your results at-home, use the suitable Vivier skin care products recommended by your skin care specialist.
